I have run into an issue where when i try to buy hell fort units and each time i do it actively crashes the game

The latest version seems to improve performance and gameplay compared to 1.5.4 but battles are still very laggy.
It seems like you've improved some things by using more memory but the whole game is still single threaded. Performance could increase drastically if you at least tried to use a couple more threads.
What engine are you guys using? In-house?

Hi everyone, try to set memory usage to minimum in the game settings, only had 1 or 2 crash in ~40hours since I did that on 7player/7 neutral biggest map  (crash after ending a day and the auto save so nothing lost, no error message).

I play on a old acer 4core 8gb no graphic card.

I just wanted to say keep up the great work, I’m loving the game and it’s easy to understand once you try it for a bit, I do have a question tho which is just what In general is unit power and whey is it limiting? Oh and also is there a way to select a specific number of a unit in any situation or transfer?

Good game. A bit janky, I find that each faction has a mechanic that is kind of insanely OP, so you are in a bit of a game of who can use their janky mechanic first to win the fight. For example I recently played a game on Hardcore + where I was doing very well with Decay, which is considered OP due to necromancy mechanics to turn dead enemies into weak troops for yourself. After killing a massive Order stack with roughly 60% of my entire force wiped out despite necromancy, I faced a small stack of Lament. Lament cast a hex spell on my main force- roughly 100 Boneshooters, which is basically the same as wiping them out as they just derp forward as frogs then get slaughtered. On another occasion the enemy faction had a single unit hitting me with burn that I was unable to target specifically as it was in the middle of a pack of other units, that one burn propagating through my mass archers killed like 80 archers over the course of the round. On the flip side I can play Lament myself or get Hex or Burn through other means but it still seems a bit too much like I'm in a nuclear war and it's all about who gets the first strike with their insanely OP spell and the armies are nearly irrelevant. 

I have a weird issue where my C drive gets maxed out when playing this game. I have 4 GB/ 100 GB available on my C Drive and most of my games/ files are on a separate Drive which has 500 gb available. The game files are in my D drive.


I'll notice mid game/ late game mid fight that my FPS drops to like 2. I check my C drive and I have 100 mb left. When I quit the game the 4 GB space comes back.

My PC has 8 gb RAM which seems to be insufficient for this game. I'm playing all new released games on high settings no problem.

Late game is very ram hungry and eventually crashes do to lack of free memory. After battles the ram usage stays high, I have 32GB and after some larger battles it stayed between 17GB and 25GB (used just by the game).

Game is great though :)

I see some performance issues with this patch.

Starting a new day takes a lot of time and it took 10-11GB RAM.

Didn't have this problem on the same map medium maps on 1.5.3.

Two comments for improvement: 

Bug Fix for Clues Required: After a game crash/reload the clues that were struck out reset and prevent future clue hunting.

Beating an Impossible Army should also give a Desperado Achievement. I achieved this twice, once with curse spells and once with anima spell spam.

Heyya, I love your work, i just would like to know if you'd be ok with modding of this game or if your going to integrate modding support.

As of 1.6.5 , Heads-up ThingOnItsOwn with custom map creation docks is under it's own category and adventure, the one under adventure crashes the game now.

Cant load games since the most recent patch. Love the game, just dont know where to post this bug so hopefully Dev sees this. Game just crashes every time i try to load one. Thx for all your great work

The demo version broke my monitor(and probably something else).When playing the game takes more and more memory at the point where it crashes not the game but the entire pc(everything i had in the background ended crashing as well), so buy the game or play the free version that is the same as a virus. Apart of that the game is very good, already played +20hours and Hardsoul character is op.

i have the same issue but the game is great, hoping they fix the memory issue soon tho :)

Every time I click on tutorial it crashes the game and itch. It won't even let me close or restart the game for some reason.

This game is absolutely fantastic. I also LOVE the demo model it's using. Being able to try the whole game out really game me a chance to see what it was all about, and after about an hour of play, I wishlisted it on Steam and bought it here. My biggest concern so far is this crash that happens every time I get pretty deep into a game. I'll get this error to crash the game out, and then another one when I try to load the saves. With the update history I've seen so far, I'm sure it'll get fixed in the near future.

9/10 in current state. Will recommend to all my friends, if you  add content and or dlc, this game could last a very long time into the foreseeable future, or create a foundation for the success of coming successors if planed.

Excellent game! Seriously, you've done a great job of bringing back that Master of Magic look and feel and even the replayability.  I really appreciate you putting in so much variety that the game never gets stale or repetitive. I love everything about the game, the graphics the music, the gameplay! You've done in 40mb's what most studios have tried to recreate in gigabytes and years of work. Keep it up, I'll be here enjoying your game and waiting for more. I do have some suggestions: please make scrolling through heros easier by letting me click on their portrait even if I'm looking at their stats/spell page or add a way to cycle through them in their name at the top of their stats profile. Its annoying to have to escape their profile just to go click another to get to the same profile I was just looking at. Just a minor QoL change. Game is awesome either way!

Absolutely love this game and recommend it to anyone. It crashes my Alienware tower seemingly every 5 minutes but its so good I just sigh and wait for the reboot so I can load it up again.

I tried for free and ended up purchasing this game. It feels very good to me. Occasional crashes but, very fun. Well done!

My first impressions - it's a very addictive game! I played it until 5 AM. To be honest that thing with 100 goblins in one unit was always the main reason why I didn't like HoMM and King's Bounty series.  But this kinda RTS battles are gorgeous! Can't say that I like graphics a lot especially interface design. HoMM 3 looked more pleasant. But it's not distracting either. Hope that in future versions there will be an art for towns like in HoMM or Disciples. It was very satisfying to see how your fortress grows. Ah by the way - it would be much more convenient if the game would be set to pause not only when you chose some spell but also when you open a spell book. It will make possible to read spell descriptions without harsh and decide what you should use.

I get this same error when I try to load a game that has crashed due to the error I listed above. It happens late in sprawling maps.

I wanted to ask. I really love the game since I played the demo, but I have a question. Should I wait until it comes out on Steam to purchase?

I'm asking this, because I want to know if the game will get frequent updates in the foreseeable future.

What are your thoughts on modsupport? When you release it on steam it could use the Steam Workshop for mods

hey I just had a 3 hour game against a horde opponent, playing cat and mouse with their seemingly endless armies. (seriously I must have killed 20 atleast.) When out of nowhere, they showed up with 500+ troops, and wiped me. Keep in mind I had killed atleast 20 of their armies, and held every property on the map for atleast an hour. Can somebody please explain to me what the fuck?

I cant even download it. been about an hour and still can't get it. file keeps failing to download. any help

You absolute madlad! The game is brilliant and it's a breath of fresh ideas into an old working formula.

Still, there are improvements to be made.

First, I don't know if there is or there isn't, but modding support at start might seem like an unnecessary extra work, but in the long run it really helps, especially if you run your project with few people. Or just by yourself. If it's the case it's even more important. You can keep it fresh by yourself only to some extend, outsourcing the work for free worked out well for Bethesda and talewords. 

Second, optimisation can be improved. I run a potato with 2 ram sticks attached to it but i'm pretty sure that potato had better time with more complex situations.

Third, a gameplay issue. To be able to convert towns and dwellings would really help the gameplay and it will remove unnecessary micromanagement. 

I sure have more feedback but, i just love my own voice. Rock on!


Oh, also, embarking and disembarking were a full turn action on heroes. For a reason.

The game is brilliant and could become a real star. I had well fun playing the demo! But sadly the game started crashing after I bought the full version. I started 4 games and each time it crashed after ca. 10min. A bit frustrating. The demo was running without crashing. Besides that the game is already pure gold. I hope it will get regular updates and maybe even more races. Keep up the good work! I really hope the crashing problem will be fixed soon!

Hey, got this error every time I clicked other than Tutorial. New Game, Load Game, Option. Though I can make a new game if I press fast enough. It's all happen if I pressed the main menu. I open lexicon on in game menu it's fine

Bonjour tout le monde, étant un grand fan de la licence HOMM je trouve ce jeux magnifique (un bon gameplay, beaucoup de créatures différentes, plusieurs factions différentes, beaucoup d'artéfacts, ...), j'ai joué a la démo et j'ai eu 2 crash du jeu, environ 1 crash par heure, dès la sortie du jeu sur steam je vais l'acheter, c'est juste un plaisir énorme de jouer à ce jeux, j'attendais depuis longtemps un jeux similaire de HOMM et je l'ai enfin trouvé, vous faites un boulot juste énorme, bravo à vous.

After that i tried to load the safe...... my pc froze again

Hi, this seems to be an issue that happens when you launch the game through the itch io app! I don't know why it happens, but the game works if you launch it via the exe the normal way.
